CPNRI embraces our workforce as our greatest resource and our greatest challenge and recognizes that our future success hinges on our ability to cultivate this resource. CPNRI is committed to supporting its members in the ongoing development of their workforce and provides an array of professional development and ongoing training resources intended to augment the training and education provided by our members to their staff.

Professional Development

CPNRI provides professional development opportunities at all levels for employees and management. Recent programs have included computer training, vocational assesments, frontline supervisors' training, andManagement Simulation. CPN continually offers seminars in leadership development and specialty series such as the series on Sexuality And People With Developmental Disabilities featuring David Hingsburger and Investigator Serious Incidents with Dale Dangremond.

Management Training

CPNRI offers a monthly Management Training series targeting those skills needed by our frontline supervisors in their daily work. This program is presented by CPN members and other professionals skilled in management and supervisory tecniques. Direct Support Professionals

Direct Support Professionals are those critical positions which assist people with disabilities to lead self-directed lives in their communities. THe training offered to these employees include the Direct Support Simulation, the DSP Certificate Program offered in cinjunction with CCRI and is a 16 credit program in the Human Services departmetn. We also offer other specialty programs that are open to DSP's throughout the year. Plese see the Calendar of Events on our home page for more information.
