Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is celebrating 10 years of proving that work and inclusion can go hand in hand this week.
The company started in 2016 in Wilmington, North Carolina, when Amy and Ben Wright wanted a place where their kids, Bitty and Beau, could work.
Today, Bitty & Beau’s is a national brand with 14 locations across the United States, employing hundreds of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in visible, customer-facing roles.
And now, Rhode Island is part of the story.
In October 2025, a new Bitty & Beau’s opened in downtown Providence. They’ve already created jobs for more than 20 adults with disabilities.
The Providence location is in the heart of the city, where college students, local workers and families come together over coffee. Not only is it a café that provides yummy treats and lattes, but it challenges assumptions about disability and work, every day.
Bitty & Beau’s isn’t a charity or program. It’s a for-profit business that proves people with disabilities can thrive in visible roles.
