YOUR RIGHTS

One in four Rhode Islanders have a disability. Everyone has the right to equal access voting. This is protected by The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) and The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

HOW TO VOTE

You have three ways to vote in the 2022 General Election.

1) From home with a mail ballot
Must have already requested one. Mail it in, or return in-person, by November 8.

2) Vote early before Election Day
Wednesday, October 19 – Monday, November 7

3) Vote on Election Day
Tuesday, November 8

Federal and state laws allow voters who are disabled, blind or unable to read or write to bring someone into the voting booth after completing an affidavit.
Rhode Island uses the ExpressVote machine to make voting easier for people with disabilities. See the video below for what you can expect.

If you experience any accessibility issues, it is important to contact your Board of Canvassers immediately. You have the right to file an administrative complaint with the Board of Elections.

CPNRI believes that people of all abilities deserve a voice in the legislative process. So, get out and exercise your right to vote.
