Giving and Receiving Feedback
SPEAKER(s): Anthony Rodriguez PhD, Huckel Inclusive
AUDIENCE: All staff levels
DESCRIPTION: This session will introduce Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and discuss the cognitive effects on our brains when we work within a psychologically safe environment to build a positive framework to begin organizational culture change with dialogue, respectful communication, and civil discourse; and explore content through small-group exercises and case studies.
Building the Beloved Community through Disability Care
SPEAKER(s): Roberta Opara
AUDIENCE: All staff levels
DESCRIPTION: The Beloved Community remains the yardstick of humankind’s survival, collective adaptation, and successful thriving. A unity that comes with rough edges, as a rose fully expressed with equally beautiful thorns. In this session, individuals will explore the idea that being for justice, rights, socio-economic advancement, and equal opportunity should also be driving the service mission of access and equity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Accountability Challenge (No Spots Remain - Capacity Reached)
SPEAKER(s): Tim Hebert/Garry Foisy/Dave Ramsden, Dirigo Leadership Consulting
AUDIENCE: Professionals who want to increase their ability to lead and influence others to achieve a desired outcome effectively. First-time managers who wish to improve their comfort level and ability to lead teams. Managers, Directors, and Executives who want to build a solid workplace culture and high-performing teams by leading and empowering them rather than merely managing them.
DESCRIPTION: This interactive, experiential workshop will help leaders and teams redefine accountability and understand how it impacts culture, communications, and performance. In this session, participants will learn a common language set and approach to seeing challenges more clearly and establishing a pathway toward resolution, completion, and accountability. Leveraging valuable models by Roger Connors, Tom Smith, and Craig Hickman, authors of The Oz Principle, the facilitators also bring a lifetime of experience leading, evolving, and growing organizations with powerful lessons learned.
Improve Performance with Your Strengths (No Spots Remain - Capacity Reached)
SPEAKER(s): Cindy Scibetta-Butts, Founder of Grow with Strengths and Gallup Certified Strengths Coach
AUDIENCE: Executive leadership, managers and supervisors. *Attendees must complete the CliftonStrengths assessment two weeks before the conference. All registered attendees will receive a link and code to complete the assessment*
DESCRIPTION: What if you were to learn that the tools you need to improve your own performance and your team’s performance are already in your back pocket? Learn how your Strengths can be a game-changer in the quest to improve your performance! Boost your individual and team performance through the power of Strengths-based talent development.
Building Inclusive Workspaces
SPEAKER(s): Anthony Rodriguez PhD, Huckel Inclusive
AUDIENCE: All staff levels
DESCRIPTION: This session will introduce Community Agreements for collective-building and collaboration, provide a working definition and framework for diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as psychological safety, and establish a framework for centering these values in the procedures of the workspace.
Leading a Culture of Change (No Spots Remain - Capacity Reached)
SPEAKER(s): Tim Hebert/Garry Foisy/Dave Ramsden, Dirigo Leadership Consulting
AUDIENCE: Executive leadership, managers and supervisors
DESCRIPTION: The days of status quo and tried and true approaches to leadership have given way to the need to continually reinvent oneself and the overarching purpose and mission of the organization – and lead change and transformation with humility, authenticity, and a collaborative spirit. Leading change requires creating a sense of urgency, purpose, and passion, building a guiding coalition, forming a vision, enlisting volunteers, removing barriers, celebrating small wins, sustaining the acceleration, and ultimately implementing the change and transformation needed. This session is part lecture and part experiential exercise.
Improve Performance with Your Strengths (No Spots Remain - Capacity Reached)

AUDIENCE: All staff levels. *Attendees must complete the CliftonStrengths assessment two weeks before the conference. All registered attendees will receive a link and code to complete the assessment*

Hiring for the Mission - Widening the Recruitment and Retention Lens (No Spots Remain - Capacity Reached)
SPEAKER(s): Roberta Opara
AUDIENCE: Supervisors and HR professionals
DESCRIPTION: Beyond role descriptions and responsibilities, can you get to the ‘heart’ of a potential candidate to make a hiring decision that aligns with the heart of your organization? Hiring for function without a match for the mission can feel off-target when relational ruptures occur, or role misalignment is felt in the daily function of teams. Rather than weigh which disruptive means to manage the negative consequences of such misalignment, in this session, participants will examine, precede, and incorporate anticipatory measures aimed at role fit, sustained functioning, and lasting retention for the heart health of your organization into the hiring process.
Brain-Based Learning
SPEAKER(s): Anthony Rodriguez PhD, Huckel Inclusive
AUDIENCE: All staff levels
DESCRIPTION: This session will explore how the brain structures initiate responsive vs. reactive states during communication at work, identify triggers in ourselves and others and ways of improving communication and trust, and understand the impact of empathetic responses to others.
Embrace Change with B.R.A.I.N.E (NEARING CAPACITY!)
SPEAKER(s): Roberta Opara
AUDIENCE: Executive leadership, managers and supervisors
DESCRIPTION: Navigate transitions better with the infusion of communication protocols that cut across responsibility silos which often isolate and separate, especially across multi-functional roles. Learn to apply a highly adaptive action framework to changes and transitions that occur anticipatedly or sporadically within your organization. This session explores known management theories turned practical for individuals who live leadership with their people in mind.
Developing and Executing Strategies for Organizational Growth (No Spots Remain - Capacity Reached)
SPEAKER(s): Tim Hebert/Garry Foisy/Dave Ramsden, Dirigo Leadership Consulting
AUDIENCE: Executive leadership, managers, and supervisors
DESCRIPTION: Strategy is a discipline that approaches a problem. Many use it in competitive pursuits, from business to politics, warfare, and sports. However, the strategy goes beyond competition to help bring about positive change in many areas, from social services to fundraising, developing technology, medical research, and other goal-oriented pursuits. By the end of this session, you can embrace your role more confidently as a strategist by eliminating the mystery surrounding strategy and providing you with an effective model for developing strategy.
