New Bill Aims To Increase Funding For Disability Services

Providers of services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are at risk of receiving no funding increases for at least four years. HB 5989 would provide an inflationary, one-time rate increase for these pivotal services.

The legislation would result in a 2.3% increase that would cost approximately $4.7 million in general revenue.

The bill was introduced by Rep. Matthew Dawson and awaits a hearing in the House Finance Committee.
