TJ Maxx Partners with Artists with Disabilities for New Apparel Line

TJ Maxx is now offering apparel designed by neurodiverse artists, thanks to a new partnership with Spectrum Designs.

Spectrum Designs is a nonprofit that employs people on the autism spectrum at a custom apparel shop. Over 65% of their team is on the spectrum.

Their six-style collection with TJ Maxx, available in over 500 stores nationwide, features t-shirts designed, printed and packaged by Spectrum’s team.

The designs include creative artwork and a hidden reference to Spectrum’s logo, with tags explaining the nonprofit’s mission.

This collaboration highlights the talents of Spectrum’s employees and helps raise awareness about neurodiversity in the workplace.

Patrick Bardsley, co-founder and CEO of Spectrum Designs, is extremely proud of this collaboration. He says, “This partnership showcases the talents of our team and furthers our mission to transform perceptions of those on the autism spectrum.”

The collection, that was available through the holiday season, is a step forward in promoting neurodiversity and inclusion in the fashion industry.

Spectrum Designs plans to expand its model into new locations and continue promoting inclusive hiring practices, proving that when businesses embrace diversity, everyone benefits.
