Advocates Working with Lawmakers to Improve Disability Funding

After decades of a lack of investment, lawmakers are working to improve funding for services that impact people with disabilities, seniors, families and more. House Bill 7591 & Senate Bill 2553 would secure a long-term funding model by fully funding rate reform that passed in 2022.

On Tuesday, nearly 100 advocates gathered at the State House to talk to lawmakers about the importance of the legislation and what it means.

Then on Wednesday night, the House Finance Committee heard from advocates in support of the legislation.

"Access is broken. Rate reform is no longer an option, but an obligation."

All bills were held for further study. We will continue to work with lawmakers to get this done.
