In 2022, we set out on a mission.
We had a clear goal of doing two things:
1) Spreading the message that people with disabilities belong in everyday life.
2) Leading the charge to get meaningful legislation passed at the State House.
We are incredibly proud to say, with your impactful help, we achieved both of those goals.
INCLUSION: A SIMPLE ACT WITH A BIG IMPACT
Our posts across social media were seen more than 367,000 times in 2022. While that number is larger than we expected, the actual impact is much more significant.
Together, we put disability topics front and center in people’s social media feeds.
If you are reading this, disability-related conversations may be no stranger to you. However, it is important to remember that for many people it is. By having this impact on social media, more people saw that people with disabilities belong in our communities, make great employees, great advocates and more.
YOUR IMPACT
The impact of this community was highlighted in December. The video above featured Marvin and his job at Grey Sail Brewing. At the end of the year, this has been liked by over 15,000 people. As you can see above, that continues to grow.
Again, while the numbers are nice to see, the actual impact is far more impressive. With the amount of people who saw this, it likely means hundreds of people who didn’t know people of all abilities make great employees saw that they could. It means employers saw the potential of an inclusive work environment and potentially are considering hiring people of all abilities.
MOVING FORWARD
We are far from done helping lead the charge on disability inclusion. There is a lot of progress still to be made and, with your help, we truly believe we can get there.
