Supporters of S2311 & H7180 watch from an overflow room due to the amount of support!

Among the many highlights was Jackie Silva, a DSP at Perspectives who said in part, “When we tell a client that their favorite staff member has left, the look on their face just makes you want to cry.”

Stagnant reimbursement rates have hurt providers’ ability to hire staff and provide support. This legislation provides a long-term solution.

Christine D’Anjou from the Seven Hills Foundation noted that she knows many who have left the field to go into restaurants or retail, saying, “I stay awake many times at night worrying about what will happen.”

The incredible turnout and testimony sent a clear message to the Senate Finance Committee. Already, all 38 Senators have signed on to co-sponsor the legislation!

Now, the House Finance Committee is expected to hear testimony shortly. We look forward to seeing another incredible turnout with amazing testimony to get both chambers on board.

We are incredibly moved by the amount of support S2311 and H7180 are receiving. However, we know the work to get them passed is far from done. We are committed to getting this legislation over the goal line and are grateful for your support. #StableWorkforceStableLives
