A new economic impact report by CPNRI shows that Rhode Island’s disability service providers contribute $851 million to our state’s economy — paying $379 million in wages and supporting 11,241 Rhode Islanders. These aren’t abstract figures. They represent real jobs, real families and real economic activity happening in every corner of this state.

For too long, disability services have been framed as a cost. The new data tells a different story.

Fully funding disability services is an investment in jobs, in families and in a Rhode Island that works for everyone.

When providers are fully funded, they can do what they do best: employ your neighbors, generate tax revenue and, most importantly, serve people with disabilities.

This sector already proves its value every single day. HB 8183 makes sure it can keep doing that. Full funding means providers can sustain their workforce, serve more Rhode Islanders and continue contributing to the economy that depends on them.

We’re asking lawmakers to pass HB 8183.
